As Warwick's cultural center since 1976, the Warwick Museum of Art (WMOA) provides gallery, stage, and classroom space for talented artists, performers, and writers from many parts of R.I. and New England.

The thriving arts center is generously supported by the City of Warwick, the Champlin Foundations, the R.I. State Council on the Arts, the State of R.I., and businesses and individual donors.

Current Exhibit

"Summer Cruising: Art of the Auto" Exhibit

Now through July 18

Summer memories are connected to cars -- cruises to the beach, family road trips, iconic car-chase movies, cruise nights and car parades, leisurely drives to Look Out Point with a summer love -- so there's something for everyone in our new exhibit.

45+ works by 20 emerging and established artists are showcased with photos, drawings, paintings, 3D works, and prints.  All works are for sale and a portion of each sale benefits our programs. The exhibit is free and open to the public -- with plenty free parking behind WMOA!

Featured Artists: illustrator Guy Cassaday, photographers Corey Silvia and Don Swavely, line artist Jim Weicherding.

Warwick Artists: painter Joan Edge, photographers Barbara deCesare and Christopher St. Pierre, auto-parts furniture creator Jeffrey Goldstein.

Vintage Photos: nostalgic images from the 1950's to 1980's submitted by local residents.

"Car Talk in the Gallery" - Tuesday, July 8 from 6:00-8:0pm

Enjoy light refreshments and hear how two artists and a writer have been inspired by a passion for cars:

  • Guy Cassaday - former Hasbro toy designer turned fine art car illustrator (fineartimages.com)
  • Corey Silvia - former Apple employee turned classic car photographer (coreysilviaphototraphs.com)
  • Peter Elsworth - current writer for the Car Section, Providence Journal (

Arrive at 6:00 to see the exhibit and enter our CD Giveaway with a People's Choice Award ballot; the "Car Talk" starts at 6:15 and artists will speak for 25 minutes each, then audience Q&A will wrap up the evening. Two entries will be announced for the CD Giveaway and there will be time to purchase artwork and prints.

CD Giveaway & People's Choice Awards - Tuesday, July 8 and Friday, July 18

A fun way for gallery guests to become part of the exhibit -- casting a ballot for their favorite care image -- and being automatically entered in our "Summer Cruising" CD Giveaway.  We asked artists for their favorite road tunes and created a customized exhibit soundtrack of 20 classic car anthems -- which 4 lucky gallery guests will win!

Winners will be pulled Tuesday, July 8th at 7:45 and Friday, July 18 at 4:00!

Celebrate the fun and passion that cars inspire!

WMOA is a non-profit 501(3)(c) arts organization, and a portion of all gallery sales supports our arts education mission. All original artwork and limited edition prints sold are exempt from RI sales tax.
